SR Plumbing is recruiting a Drainage Engineer to support customers across Leicester, Leicestershire.
The role covers blocked drains, drainage repairs, recurring drainage issues and reactive appointments. We are looking for someone practical, reliable and comfortable explaining findings clearly to customers.
Location and coverage
Covering Leicester, Leicestershire and agreed nearby service areas for drainage appointments.
Applicants should be able to cover postcode area: LE.
Working pattern
Full-time mobile role with booked drainage appointments, urgent blockage work and occasional call-out demand.
Education requirements
Practical drainage experience and a full UK driving licence.
Experience requirements
Experience clearing drainage blockages, diagnosing drainage issues and working directly with customers.
Responsibilities
- Attend domestic and light commercial drainage jobs, including blockages, slow-draining fixtures and external drainage issues.
- Use appropriate equipment to diagnose and clear drainage problems safely.
- Carry out practical drainage repair and maintenance work where required.
- Explain findings clearly to customers and recommend sensible next steps.
- Take photos, write clear job notes and keep the office updated on follow-on work.
- Manage urgent reactive jobs while keeping workmanship tidy and professional.
- Represent SR Plumbing professionally in the local area you cover.
Requirements
- Practical experience as a drainage engineer or multi-skilled engineer handling drainage work.
- Confidence clearing common blockages and identifying recurring drainage problems.
- Experience using drainage equipment such as rods, jetting equipment or CCTV inspection tools.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A tidy, reliable and customer-conscious way of working.
- Ability to manage reactive appointments without close supervision.
Desirable experience
- High-pressure water jetting experience.
- CCTV drainage survey or inspection experience.
- Experience with domestic and light commercial drainage work.

- Clear common blockages safely and efficiently.
- Identify recurring drainage issues and recommend sensible follow-on work.
